Trout fishing

Lake Taupo offers 616 kilometers of anglers’ heaven. With a landmass the size of Singapore, for decades now, anglers have been coming to Taupo from all around the world to enjoy what’s on offer.

Bronze and rainbow trout were originally released into the lake in the 1800s and quickly made Lake Taupo an anglers paradise.

One also cannot be chided for thinking they are at the ocean when looking upon the beautiful lake pumice sandy beaches and spectacular bays that adorn the lake shores.

Lake Taupo offers excellent all-year-round fishing and scenic lake cruises.

There are a variety of options for you to choose from half and full-day lake cruises that take you from the Maori carvings to the isolation of the Western Bays.
